In a prehistoric town called Bedrock, the lovable but dim-witted Fred Flintstone and his best friend, Barney Rubble, are always getting into trouble. When Barney's wife, Betty, becomes pregnant with their second child, Fred decides to help his friend out by adopting a child of their own. After visiting an adoption agency, Fred and Wilma Flintstone (Fred's wife) adopt a little girl named Pebbles, who quickly becomes the apple of their eye. Meanwhile, Barney and his wife Betty are overjoyed with the arrival of their new baby boy, Bamm-Bamm. As the two families navigate parenthood together, they face various challenges and comedic misadventures. Fred's constant mishaps and hare-brained schemes often put him at odds with his nemesis, Mr. Slate, who owns the rock quarry where Fred works as a "bronto-crane" operator. However, when Barney sees an opportunity to repay Fred for helping him adopt Bamm-Bamm, he comes up with a wild idea - they'll mine for precious stones in their backyard! The two friends embark on a series of wacky misadventures, including building a makeshift mine and getting into a heated battle with Mr. Slate over the rights to the land. Throughout the film, the Flintstones' beloved characters are brought to life in a colorful and humorous way, with John Goodman voicing Fred and Rick Moranis playing Barney.
