In Spellbound, Dr. Anthony Edwardes arrives at a Vermont mental hospital to assume the role of director, but psychoanalyst Dr. Constance Peterson soon discovers he is an impostor suffering from amnesia. The man confesses that the real Dr. Edwardes is dead and fears he may be responsible, though he remembers nothing. Convinced of his innocence, Dr. Peterson embarks on a journey to uncover the truth, using psychoanalysis to unlock his lost memories while evading authorities who believe him guilty.
