A Beautiful Mind tells the remarkable true story of John Forbes Nash Jr., a mathematical genius who struggles with paranoid schizophrenia. The film begins with Nash's arrival at Princeton University, where he is immediately recognized as a prodigy in mathematics. Despite his exceptional intellect, Nash is awkward and socially inept, struggling to connect with others. As Nash delves deeper into his work on game theory, he meets Charles Herman, a fellow mathematician who becomes his friend and confidant. Meanwhile, Nash begins an affair with a graduate student named Helen Gandy, which ends abruptly when she discovers his infidelity. His brilliant mind is able to decipher complex codes, earning him the respect and admiration of his peers.
