Daredevil is a 2003 superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. The story follows Matt Murdock (Ben Affleck), a lawyer who was blinded as a child due to radioactive isotopes in his eyes, which instead granted him superhumanly-elevated senses. As Daredevil, Matt uses his heightened sense of hearing and smell to fight crime on the streets of Hell's Kitchen, New York City. He is guided by his " radar" sense, which allows him to perceive his surroundings with uncanny precision, even in complete darkness. Matt's crusade against crime is fueled by a personal vendetta against Wilson Fisk (Jon Favreau), a ruthless and corrupt businessman who was responsible for the death of Matt's best friend and mentor, Stick. Meanwhile, Matt's secret identity as Daredevil is threatened when he falls for Karen Page (Jennifer Garner), a beautiful and ambitious journalist who is investigating the seedy underbelly of Hell's Kitchen. As Matt struggles to balance his dual lives, he must also confront the moral ambiguities of his vigilante crusade and the personal costs of his actions. Throughout the film, Daredevil's iconic red suit and his willingness to push the limits of justice are juxtaposed against the harsh realities of life in Hell's Kitchen, where crime and corruption seem insurmountable.
