In the 1986 comedy classic ¡Three Amigos!, a trio of out-of-work silent film stars, Lucky Day (Cheech Marin), Dusty Bottoms (Chris Farley), and Ned Nederlander (Steve Martin), find themselves embroiled in a series of misadventures when they are mistaken for real heroes by a small Mexican village. The trio's fame has waned since their heyday as silent film stars, and they now spend their days performing at rodeos and county fairs. However, when they receive an invitation to perform in the village of Santo Poco, they jump at the chance to revive their careers. Upon arrival, they are greeted as heroes by the villagers, who have been terrorized by a bandit known as General Cactus Hood (Joaquín Baldwin).
