In the dusty and desolate town of Old Stump, Arizona, Albert Stark (Charlie Hunnam) is a cowardly farmer who lives by one rule: never take risks. He spends his days stuck in a rut, afraid to stand up for himself or assert his independence. However, everything changes when Albert meets the enigmatic and beautiful Louise (Charlize Theron), a woman with a mysterious past. As Albert begins to fall for Louise, he finds himself emboldened by her presence, and his life starts to take on a new sense of purpose. He even begins to stand up for himself, much to the dismay of his best friend, Edward (Liam Neeson). However, their budding relationship is put to the test when Louise's husband, Clinch (Seth MacFarlane), a notorious gun-slinger and outlaw, announces his arrival in town. Clinch is a ruthless and cunning man who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. He's been tracking Louise down for years, determined to claim her as his own. As Albert tries to navigate this treacherous situation, he must confront his own fears and doubts in order to protect the woman he loves. As tensions rise and the stakes grow higher, Albert finds himself facing off against Clinch in a series of hilarious and action-packed showdowns. With the help of his eccentric neighbors, including Foy (Giovanni Ribisi) and Gemma (Sarah Silverman), Albert must use all his wits and cunning to outsmart Clinch and win Louise's heart. Throughout the film, Seth MacFarlane's witty humor and clever wordplay shine through in a script that is both humorous and heartfelt.
