Here's the plot summary of "Footlight Glamour" (1941): In this comedy, Mr. Dithers, the boss of Dagwood Bumstead's employer, Blabber & Blow, is determined to convince a stubborn businessman, Harrison, to build a war-time manufacturing plant on land he owns. However, Dagwood, who is always scheming to get what he wants, has other plans. Dagwood's daughter, Patricia, has become involved with the production of a musical show, "Footlight Glamour," which is being staged at the local theater. The problem is that Harrison, the businessman, is funding the show and Dagwood is desperate to keep his involvement a secret from him. You see, if Harrison finds out that his employee's daughter is working on a frivolous project like a musical while there are more pressing issues at hand, he'll likely shut down the entire operation. As Dagwood tries to juggle his responsibilities at work and his love for his family, chaos ensues when Patricia gets mixed up with the show's lead actor, a charming but slightly reckless ladies' man named Rusty. Meanwhile, Mr. Dithers is trying to keep Harrison's attention focused on the manufacturing plant, while Dagwood's wife, Blondie, tries to keep her husband from getting into more trouble than he already is. In the end, of course, everything works out for the best, with the show being a huge success and the manufacturing plant being built. But not before a series of hilarious misunderstandings, mistaken identities, and wacky adventures that leave everyone involved in stitches.
