In "Shrek Forever After", the lovable ogre Shrek has grown tired of his mundane life with Fiona and their little ogre triplet sons. He yearns for the old days when he was a free-spirited, swamp-dwelling bachelor. Seeking a thrill, Shrek makes a deal with the cunning Rumpelstiltskin to relive one day as a real ogre again. Rumpelstiltskin, however, has an ulterior motive. He tricks Shrek into signing a contract that actually forces him to spend 24 hours in an alternate reality where he is treated like a monster and is feared by the citizens of Far Far Away. In this twisted version of his beloved kingdom, Rumpelstiltskin has taken control and turned everything upside down. As Shrek navigates this bizarre new world, he meets old friends like Donkey and Puss in Boots, but they are all different, too. Fiona is now a princess, and their children do not exist.
