Ford Fairlane, the self-proclaimed "Rock 'n' Roll Detective," is a charismatic gumshoe with a flair for the dramatic. With his ear to the ground and a wink in his eye, Ford navigates the decadent world of 1980s Los Angeles, solving mysteries and bedding babes along the way. When pop starlet Cynthia is brutally murdered, her estranged mother hires Ford to find out who's responsible. As he delves deeper into the case, Ford finds himself entangled in a web of deceit, corruption, and rock 'n' roll excess. With his trusty sidekick, Detective Colleen "Alley" Alley, by his side, Ford must navigate the treacherous landscape of Hollywood glamour to uncover the truth behind Cynthia's untimely demise. Along the way, he crosses paths with a cast of colorful characters, including a ruthless record producer, a groupie with a penchant for trouble, and a mysterious femme fatale who may hold the key to the mystery. As Ford gets closer to the truth, he finds himself facing off against his own demons, including a troubled past and a reputation that precedes him.
