In the once-thriving city of Atlantis, the ruthless King Orm has risen to power, using his vast underwater empire to dominate the oceans and crush any opposition. His ultimate goal is to conquer the surface world, believing that the surface dwellers are inferior to the Atlanteans. Meanwhile, Arthur Curry, a half-human, half-Atlantean, lives on the surface with his adoptive family, unaware of his true heritage. When Mera, the princess of Atlantis, arrives in search of her father's killer, she reveals to Arthur that he is the rightful heir to the throne and the only one who can stop Orm's destructive plans. Believing his life as a fisherman on the surface is safer, Arthur initially refuses the call to duty. However, after Mera's attack on the surface world sparks a chain reaction of violence, Arthur realizes the gravity of the situation and decides to take up the mantle of Aquaman. With the help of Mera and a wise-cracking ally, Vulko, Arthur embarks on a perilous journey to reclaim his birthright and stop Orm from destroying the world. As he faces off against the formidable Black Manta and Orm's monstrous minions, Aquaman must confront the harsh realities of being an outcast and struggling to find his place in the world. Meanwhile, Orm's treachery is revealed, and Arthur discovers that his half-brother has been secretly manipulating him to further his own ambitions. With his newfound powers and a deeper understanding of his heritage, Aquaman must unite the fractured Atlantean tribes against the common enemy and lead the charge to stop Orm from achieving his catastrophic goal.
