As the spaceship Antares descends onto the barren wasteland, Captain Leo Davidson is left the sole survivor after his crewmates are brutally slaughtered by a group of intelligent simian creatures. Injured and disoriented, Davidson stumbles upon the ruins of an old nuclear power plant, where he meets a dying chimpanzee who hands him a small, shiny object before succumbing to its injuries. As Davidson navigates this desolate landscape, he encounters a group of apes, led by the charismatic and menacing General Ursus.
