Plot
Venom (1981) is a horror film that tells the story of a group of teenagers who embark on a camping trip to the swamps of Louisiana, only to find themselves being stalked and terrorized by Mr. Jangles, a vengeful spirit with 13 evil souls possessing his body. The movie begins with a group of friends, including Jesse (Rachel Myers), a spiritualist who is skeptical of the supernatural, and her boyfriend, Terry (Denny Miller), heading to the bayou for a camping trip. They are joined by their friends, including Dwayne (Richard Boulanger) and his girlfriend, Kelly (Julie Corman). As they settle into their campsite, strange things begin to happen. Equipment goes missing, and eerie noises can be heard in the distance. Jesse is initially dismissive of these events, believing them to be mere pranks or her imagination playing tricks on her. However, as the occurrences escalate, it becomes clear that something malevolent is at work. The group soon discovers that they are being stalked by Mr. Jangles (William Sanderson), a man who has been possessed by 13 evil souls from hell. Jangles is a former carnival worker who was cursed by the souls after he failed to return their payment for a tarot card reading. Now, he is driven by an insatiable hunger to claim new victims and add their souls to his collection. As the group tries to fend off Jangles' relentless attacks, they begin to realize that they are trapped in a desperate struggle for survival. Jesse, who has developed a deep understanding of the supernatural, becomes the de facto leader of the group, using her knowledge to try and defeat Jangles and free the souls from his grasp. As the body count rises, the remaining survivors must confront their own mortality and the evil that lurks in the shadows. Will they be able to outsmart Mr. Jangles and escape the clutches of death, or will they become the latest additions to his gruesome collection?
