Plot
Scream 2 is a 1997 American horror film directed by Wes Craven and written by Kevin Williamson. The movie serves as a sequel to the original Scream, which revolutionized the horror genre with its self-aware, meta approach. The film takes place two years after the events of the first installment, where Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) is attending Windsor College, hoping to put her traumatic past behind her. However, her peace is short-lived as a series of murders occurs on campus, eerily reminiscent of the Ghostface killings that ravaged Woodsboro. As the body count rises, Sidney's new friend, Mickey (Timothy Bottoms), becomes increasingly suspicious and paranoid, convinced that the murders are part of a copycat killing spree inspired by the original events. Despite her initial skepticism, Sidney soon finds herself at the center of another gruesome game, as the masked killer seems to be taunting her with cruel precision.
