Plot
Here is a brief summary of Mortal Kombat: Annihilation: In the aftermath of the events in the first film, Lord Shang Tsung's (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa) evil plan to destroy Earth and rule over its destruction is set in motion. The only way to prevent this catastrophe is for a group of heroic warriors, including Liu Kang (Trevor Murphy), Kitana (Talisa Soto), and Jax (Linden Ashby), to gather the ancient artifacts known as the "Soul Stealers" within six days. As they embark on their perilous quest, the team must face an array of formidable foes, including Tarkat (James Remar), a ruthless warlord; Sindel (Sarah Carter), Kitana's long-lost half-sister; and the malevolent sorceress, Shao Kahn (Brian Thompson). The stakes are higher than ever as our heroes confront their own mortality and the very fabric of existence. Mortal Kombat: Annihilation has the balls to deliver a chaotic, over-the-top action flick that understands the magic of Mortal Kombat. With a cast that seems to have taken the "extreme" part literally, this movie is a testament to how much fun you can have with a little fatalities and a lot of heart-pounding fights. If you're a fan of the series, this one will hit different.
