Plot
As the day begins, Fletcher Reede, a charismatic but unscrupulous lawyer, finds himself under the watchful eye of his precocious five-year-old son, Max. With a reputation for stretching the truth and breaking promises, Fletcher is not exactly known for his honesty. However, when Max blows out the candles on his birthday cake, he makes a wish that has far-reaching consequences: he wants his dad to stop lying for 24 hours. At first, Fletcher dismisses the idea as mere fantasy, but fate intervenes in the form of a court order that forces him to represent a client without telling any lies. As he struggles to navigate this unfamiliar landscape, Fletcher quickly realizes that being truthful is far more challenging than he ever could have imagined. As the day wears on, Fletcher's habitual dishonesty becomes increasingly difficult to maintain, and his professional and personal life begins to unravel.
