The Spirit of the Beehive (El espíritu de la colmena) is a 1973 Spanish drama film directed by Víctor Erice. Ana's fascination with James Whale's 1931 film Frankenstein leads her to attend a screening of the classic horror movie. Ana's imagination runs wild as she becomes convinced that Sofía is possessed by the spirit of Mary Shelley, and that she must help her bring back the dead.
