The Towering Inferno is a 1974 American disaster film directed by John Guillermin and produced by Irwin Allen. The movie tells the story of a luxurious skyscraper called the "Global Powers Building" that is celebrating its grand opening with a lavish party. The building's architect, James Duncan (Robert Wagner), and his partner, Doug Roberts (Paul Newman), are among the guests.
