Frank Farmer, a former Secret Service agent, has built a reputation for being the best in his field. He is hired by music mogul Bill Devaney to protect Rachel Marron, a famous pop singer, from an obsessed fan who has been making threatening phone calls and showing up at her concerts. Frank is initially hesitant to take on the job, but eventually agrees after learning that Rachel's husband and children are also in danger. Upon meeting Rachel, Frank is appalled by her self-indulgent and reckless behavior. He believes she is putting herself and others at risk with her carefree attitude towards security. Rachel, on the other hand, sees Frank as uptight and overly cautious. She is used to having people around her all the time and feels suffocated by his constant presence. As Frank begins to work as Rachel's bodyguard, he quickly realizes that she has a serious problem with her obsessive fan, who will stop at nothing to get close to her. Frank becomes increasingly protective of Rachel, going to great lengths to ensure her safety. Despite their differences, the two begin to develop feelings for each other. However, Frank's past experiences as a Secret Service agent have left him emotionally scarred, and he struggles to open up to Rachel. Meanwhile, Rachel is hiding a deep secret: she has been diagnosed with terminal cancer, but doesn't want her fans or anyone else to know. As the threat from her obsessed fan escalates, Frank and Rachel must put aside their differences and work together to stay one step ahead of danger. Throughout the film, Frank's tough exterior slowly begins to crack as he grows closer to Rachel. The tension between them is palpable, but it's clear that they are falling in love. In the end, Frank must confront his own demons and make a choice: will he continue to protect Rachel, or will he walk away for good?
