James Bond is on the trail of a new and powerful villain when he learns that the KGB has stolen a revolutionary microchip capable of surviving a nuclear blast. Zorin Industries, a British-based company, had been developing this chip for the government, but it seems they've been betrayed from within. Bond's investigation takes him to Monte Carlo, where he meets with the beautiful and cunning Stacey Sutton (Tatum O'Neal). She's an American oil heiress who's in danger of losing her company to the ruthless Max Zorin (Christopher Walken), a former Nazi collaborator with a personal vendetta against Bond. As Bond delves deeper into the mystery, he discovers that Zorin has plans to create a massive earthquake in San Francisco during the Golden Gate Bridge's centennial celebration. This would allow him to gain control of the world's oil reserves and further his own nefarious ambitions. With the help of Q (Desmond Llewelyn) and his trusty sidekick, Felix Leiter (David Young), Bond must stop Zorin and his accomplices before it's too late. Along the way, he faces off against a variety of colorful villains, including the deadly May Day (Grace Jones). In the end, Bond finds himself in a thrilling showdown with Zorin atop the Golden Gate Bridge as the clock ticks down to disaster. With his trademark wit and cunning, he saves the day once again and leaves Zorin and his cohorts to face the consequences of their evil schemes.
