In the heart of Manhattan, a charismatic lion named Alex rules over the Central Park Zoo as its star attraction. Alongside his closest confidants - Marty, a charming zebra; Melman, a gentle giraffe; and Gloria, a carefree hippopotamus - they have grown accustomed to their mundane routine, entertaining visitors with their acrobatic displays. However, their tranquil existence is disrupted when Marty's wild dream of adventure takes an unexpected turn. On Marty's 21st birthday, the group discovers that he has been secretly filling out adoption papers for a wild animal sanctuary in Africa. Overjoyed by the prospect of exploring the African savannah, Alex and his friends decide to join Marty on this escapade. The quartet sets off on a thrilling journey, abandoning their zoo life behind.
