In "Uncommon Valor," a group of Vietnam War veterans reunite 15 years after the war's end to embark on a perilous mission to rescue one of their own, who was left behind and taken prisoner by the Vietnamese. The film centers around Commander Jameson (Gene Hackman), a retired Navy SEAL commander, who is haunted by the memories of his fallen comrades.
