Ransom is a 1998 American thriller film directed by Ron Howard and starring Mel Gibson, Rene Russo, and Gary Sinise. Tom Mullen (Mel Gibson), a self-made millionaire, lives a comfortable life with his wife Kate (Rene Russo) and their two young children. However, their world is turned upside down when their eight-year-old son Sean is kidnapped during a family outing at the zoo.
