Here is the plot summary: In the comedy film "Head of State," the unexpected death of a presidential candidate throws the democratic party into chaos. As the election is just weeks away, the party's leaders scramble to find a suitable replacement for the late candidate. Their search leads them to Mays Gilliam (Chris Rock), a well-meaning but inexperienced alderman from Washington D.C. Initially hesitant and unsure of himself, Gilliam is eventually convinced by his friend and fellow politician, Mitch Douglas (Steve Park), to take on the challenge. Despite having no prior experience in national politics, Gilliam sees this as an opportunity to make a difference and shake things up. As Gilliam navigates the complexities of presidential politics, he finds himself facing off against his rival, Larkin Groves (Tom Verde), a smooth-talking, old-school politician who will stop at nothing to win. Meanwhile, Gilliam's team, including his loyal friend and campaign manager, Marcus Hicks (Sean Nelson), work tirelessly behind the scenes to help him prepare for the debates and interviews that will shape the outcome of the election.
