In the 1999 comedy film "Mummies", a trio of ancient Egyptian mummies - Rick (Jason Flemyng), Cleo (Hampstead Morris) and Jed (Raymond Pickard) - find themselves transported through time and space to modern-day London. The three mummies, initially confused and disoriented by the unfamiliar surroundings, set out on a quest to retrieve an antique ring that was stolen from the British Royal Family. As they navigate the city's streets, the mummies encounter a series of bizarre and hilarious situations. Rick, the charismatic leader of the group, becomes smitten with a charming nightclub singer (Alexis Arquette) and finds himself in a series of awkward and embarrassing predicaments. Meanwhile, Cleo and Jed get into all sorts of misadventures as they try to blend in with modern society. As the mummies' search for the stolen ring leads them on a wild goose chase through London's streets, they inadvertently cause chaos and destruction wherever they go. From accidentally setting off a fire alarm at a posh hotel to causing a traffic jam on the city's busy highways, the mummies leave a trail of mayhem in their wake. Despite their best efforts, however, the mummies are not able to recover the stolen ring until they stumble upon a group of bumbling thieves who are also after the valuable artifact. In a series of slapstick misunderstandings and comedic mishaps, the mummies and the thieves engage in an escalating battle for possession of the ring. In the end, the mummies' zany adventures in London come to a head as they successfully retrieve the ring and return it to its rightful owners.
