As Jay lies in bed with her new lover, Paul, she can't help but feel a sense of euphoria wash over her. The excitement and thrill of a new relationship have left her feeling invincible, unaware of the sinister force that lurks just beneath the surface. It's not until she sees the eerie figure of a woman who resembles her own reflection that Jay begins to realize something is terribly wrong. The film's protagonist soon discovers that this vengeful entity, known only as "It," will relentlessly pursue her wherever she goes, taking on the form of different people and animals, always one step ahead. As Jay tries to make sense of this new reality, she finds herself being chased by a series of strange and terrifying apparitions. As the curse continues to spread from person to person through sexual contact, Jay's friends and acquaintances begin to fall victim to It's wrath. One by one, they disappear, leaving her with no choice but to confront the dark force head-on. With this knowledge, Jay realizes that her only hope for survival lies in breaking the cycle before It claims her as its next victim. Throughout the film, director David Robert Mitchell masterfully crafts an atmosphere of creeping dread and unease, using long takes and deliberate pacing to build tension. The score is equally effective, with a haunting soundtrack that perfectly captures the sense of foreboding and despair that pervades the narrative.
