In a distant future, humanity's struggle for survival has led to the colonization of other planets. The most valuable and coveted resource in the universe is melange, also known as "Spice," which grants prescience, extends life, and enhances cognitive abilities. The desert planet Arrakis, where this precious substance can be found, becomes the epicenter of a bitter conflict between rival factions vying for control. Paul Atreides, the young son of Leto Atreides, the Duke of House Atreides, is next in line to inherit his father's vast interplanetary empire. However, Paul's destiny takes a drastic turn when his father is betrayed by his own nephew, Feyd-Rautha, and killed.
