The Federation is drawn into a conflict on a distant planet where a group of Ba'ku, an alien species with unique regenerative properties, live. The Ba'ku are being pursued by the Son'a, who seek to exploit their ability to regenerate and become young again. The Enterprise-E crew, led by Captain Jean-Luc Picard, is dispatched to the planet to investigate the situation.
