The story takes place in a small border town that has been taken over by Caldwell, an ex-Confederate raider, and his ruthless gang of thugs. Keoma, a half-breed with mixed Native American and white ancestry, returns to his hometown after serving in the Civil War. Keoma's presence is met with suspicion and hostility from the locals, who are intimidated by Caldwell's gang. As he tries to reconnect with his past and find out what has happened to his family during his absence, Keoma discovers that Caldwell is terrorizing the town, extorting money from its residents, and committing atrocities. Keoma decides to take a stand against Caldwell and his gang, knowing that it will be a perilous and potentially deadly fight. With his unique skills as a warrior, acquired during his time in the war, Keoma sets out to bring justice to his hometown and restore peace to its people.
