In the 1988 American comedy-horror film "Beetlejuice," directed by Tim Burton, a recently deceased couple, Barbara and Adam Maitland (played by Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin), find themselves stuck in the mortal realm after their home is inhabited by an obnoxious and nouveau-riche family, the Deetz's.
