In the horror comedy "Scary Movie," Cindy Campbell (Anna Faris) and her friends are trying to have a fun-filled Halloween night at a local haunted house. However, their evening takes a dark turn when they discover that the spookhouse is actually a front for a psychotic mental patient, Bobby Prichard (Shaun Sipos), who has escaped from an institution. Bobby's obsession with killing people on Halloween night stems from his childhood trauma of being ridiculed by trick-or-treaters. As Cindy and her friends navigate through the haunted house, they soon realize that Bobby is using the attraction to lure in victims and fulfill his macabre desires. Meanwhile, Cindy's boyfriend, Tommy (Tom Everett Scott), is dealing with his own set of problems. His father, a former rock star turned motivational speaker, has become a laughingstock after releasing an embarrassing music video. As Tommy tries to navigate his way through this humiliation, he finds himself caught up in the chaos at the haunted house. Along the way, they encounter a series of hilarious parodies of popular horror movies, including "I Know What You Did Last Summer," "Scream," and "The Exorcist."
