In the near future, Earth is facing an impending environmental disaster due to its diminishing food supply. As the planet's resources dwindle, humanity must find a way to ensure its survival beyond the solar system. Against this backdrop, a team of scientists and engineers led by Professor Brand (Michael Caine) embark on a mission to travel through a newly discovered wormhole in search of a new home for humanity.
