Plot

In the midst of a brutal winter storm, eight strangers, each with their own secrets and motivations, converge on Minnie's Haberdashery, a small trading post nestled in the mountains. The group consists of Major Marquis Warren, a ruthless black bounty hunter; John "The Hangman" Ruth, a vengeful white bounty hunter; Chris Mannix, a wounded sheriff; Joe Gage, a quiet but deadly cowboy; and Oswaldo Mobray, a cunning Mexican assassin. As they wait out the storm, tensions simmer beneath the surface. The characters' complex backstories and grudges begin to unfold, revealing deep-seated animosities and hidden agendas. Warren, in particular, has a score to settle with Ruth, who has been seeking revenge for years. Meanwhile, Mannix's injuries and Mobray's sinister nature make them suspect targets. As the storm rages on, the group is joined by two new arrivals: General Sandy Smithers, an eccentric Confederate veteran; and Channing Waltz, a ruthless outlaw. As the ensemble gathers around the fire, sharing stories and drinking whiskey, their true natures are slowly exposed. Ruth's icy demeanor hides a deep-seated anger towards Warren, while Mobray's smooth facade conceals his brutal intentions. As the plot thickens, alliances are forged and broken, and the group's dynamics shift like the treacherous mountain terrain outside. The film builds towards a violent and devastating climax, as the characters' secrets and lies are revealed, and their true identities are exposed. In the end, only one thing is certain: not everyone will survive the wrath of the storm or the treachery of their fellow travelers.
