Plot
Paul is a science fiction comedy film that tells the story of an extraterrestrial being, also named Paul, who has been living on Earth for decades, hiding in plain sight among humans. For 60 years, Paul has been advising world leaders about his kind, the Ra'niens, and sharing his knowledge with them. However, as time passes, Paul begins to worry that he has outlived his usefulness to humanity. When two American comedians, Rick (Rob Riggle) and Jerry (Bill Hader), stumble upon an alien spaceship in the desert, they accidentally release Paul from his prison cell. The Ra'niens' plan is to send a reconnaissance probe to Earth to learn about human behavior, but things take an unexpected turn when Paul escapes and befriends the two comedians.
