Hostage

Plot

As the sun sets over Los Angeles, Detective Jeff Talley (Bruce Willis) receives a distress call that will change his life forever. A group of heavily armed robbers, led by Eddie Kim (Aron Tager), has taken hostage Leon Garland (Jonah Blechman), a seemingly ordinary family man with a dark secret: he's been embezzling funds from the Korean mafia. As Talley arrives at the scene, he's met with the eerie silence of the hostages' families, frozen in terror. The situation becomes personal when it's revealed that Kim has taken hostage not only Garland but also his wife and children. As tensions escalate, Talley is forced to confront his own demons: a traumatic event from his past as a negotiator during a standoff at his family's farm, which left an indelible mark on him. As the situation spirals out of control, Talley must navigate the complex web of motives and alliances between Kim, Garland, and the mafia. With time running out, he must use every ounce of experience and intuition to rescue the hostages and bring order back to the chaos. But as the stakes rise, Talley's own family becomes increasingly entangled in the standoff. His wife, Claire (Rene Russo), and their children are taken hostage by Kim, who uses them as leverage against Talley. The detective is forced to walk a thin line between protecting his own loved ones and keeping the situation from escalating further. As the tension builds towards a climactic showdown, Talley must confront his deep-seated fears and doubts in order to save not only Garland's family but also his own. Will he be able to overcome his personal demons and bring a sense of closure to this desperate standoff?
