Carlito's Way is a 1993 American crime drama film directed by Brian De Palma and written by David Koepp. The movie tells the story of Carlito Brigante (Al Pacino), a Puerto Rican ex-con who has just been released from prison after serving five years for drug trafficking. Upon his release, Carlito makes a promise to himself to leave behind his former life of crime and violence and start anew.
