Critters

Plot

In the sleepy town of KaBoom, a strange and terrifying phenomenon occurs when a giant, spherical creature made up of hundreds of tiny, furry critters descends upon the community. These insatiable, worm-like beings, known as Crites, have an unquenchable appetite for flesh and begin to devour everything in their path. As the Crites wreak havoc on KaBoom, a team of intergalactic bounty hunters, led by the ruthless Charlie MacFadin (Scott Grimes), arrive on the scene in pursuit of the creatures. The Crites are actually the offspring of an alien entity known as the "Mog," and MacFadin is determined to capture them and collect the hefty reward offered by the Mog's authorities. However, the people of KaBoom refuse to go down without a fight. Led by the fearless and feisty Harriet (Dee Wallace), the townsfolk arm themselves with homemade traps and explosives in an effort to repel the Crites and fend off MacFadin and his team. As the battle between humans and Crites reaches its climax, the two groups engage in a series of gruesome and hilarious confrontations. The Crites' unique abilities, including their ability to regrow lost limbs and emit a deafening scream, make them formidable opponents. Meanwhile, MacFadin's unscrupulous methods and Harriet's determination to protect her town lead to a series of tense showdowns. Despite the absurdity of the situation, Critters (1986) is a heartwarming tale of small-town resilience and the power of community in the face of overwhelming odds. With its blend of humor, horror, and adventure elements, this cult classic has become a beloved staple of '80s sci-fi comedy.
