Plot

Scary Movie is a horror comedy film that sends up popular slasher movies, particularly Scream (1996). The movie follows a group of teenagers, including Cindy Campbell (Anna Faris), Bobby Prinze (Jon Abrahams), and Ray Wilkins (Shawn Wayans), as they become the targets of a mysterious masked killer. The story begins with Cindy, who is still reeling from her traumatic experience in the previous year's horror movie, trying to move on with her life. However, when a series of gruesome murders takes place in their neighborhood, Cindy and her friends start to suspect that they are being stalked by the same killer responsible for the earlier slayings. As the bodies pile up, the group of friends tries to figure out who is behind the killings and why they are being targeted. Along the way, they encounter a number of wacky characters, including a dim-witted cop (David Lander) and a pair of bumbling detectives (Chris Masterson and Lochlyn Munro).
